Joining the Network

The World 100 reputation network is designed for those senior staff in World 100 universities responsible for managing reputation through communications and relationships with international stakeholders - including HE partners, government and NGO agencies, alumni, academic and scholar communities, and the media.

The network connects those who manage the reputation of a World 100 university with others in similar roles. Membership is corporate rather than individual but each member university nominates a lead contact, typically the director of communications or similar.

The network will seek to evolve to engage those with roles such as directors of alumni relations and international, PVC strategy, directors of marketing and research.

The World 100 reputation network is managed by specialist higher education consultancy The Knowledge Partnership, which has offices in the UK and Australia. The Network is led by one of its senior managing partners, Louise Simpson MA CIPR, herself the former director of communications at the University of Cambridge.

Membership Criteria

Full membership of the network is exclusive to universities who are in the World 100 rankings, or have been ranked World 100 in any of the three previous years. Associate membership is available for those ranked 101st to 200th.

Rankings used are the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings and the SJT World Academic Rankings, produced by Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Institute of Higher Education. We refer to these as the THE, QS and the SJT throughout, as these acronyms are used widely in the sector.

The aim is to actively extend the membership to other continental areas both in and beyond Europe, Australasia, the US and Asia. The Network would positively welcome new members.
