WASP: Web Analysis Scoping Peers
WASP assesses your University website and compares it to four peers of your choice. The analysis looks at a number of key categories and scores them on a subjective four point scale.
Areas assessed include:
- Ability to find/download site
- Typology of users (from Alexa)
- Brand and graphic design
- Homepage
- Navigation and fixed links
- Research amplification
- Use of rankings
- Tone of voice
- Internationalisation
- Use of technology
- News and media
- Critical messages
- Sense of place
- Appeal to international students
- Broadcast of world class status
- Languages of site
Each area is assessed by two independent analysts, and moderated by a third professional. The framework is underpinned by reference to research in web usage. The final report will then allow you to see how you perform as an institution on these measures against any of your preferred university peers.
