World 100 Events & Projects update

Mirroring the way the universities across the globe are adapting, W100 is changing how we deliver activity, with some events shifted to later dates and other activities being delivered online.

We have already started a new series of webinars, aimed at sharing experiences and connecting colleagues across the world in these challenging times.

We have also recently announced that the W100 Academy, our intensive reputation training course delivered in Cambridge, will shift from the original May date to later in the year.  Colleagues who had signed up for May have been contacted, but there will be further opportunities for others to consider joining the training: see here for further details.

Looking further ahead, our Annual Conference is due to take place in November 2020, hosted by the University of Melbourne. Whilst it is too early to forecast the likely impact of the pandemic on the conference, we have already started to re-think the focus of the event to embrace the crisis and response to C-19.

We will ensure that it reflects on the reputational impacts of the pandemic, as well as looking forward to how universities implement longer-term changes to reflect a radically re-shaped environment.  If you have any initial ideas about key topics to consider, let us know at

The W100 research project for 2020, the Pilot International Reputation Tracker, is kicking off with the first surveys going out to key audiences. We fully appreciate that a number of W100 members understandably feel that they can no longer facilitate engagement with their own internal audiences due to COVID-19 related disruptions.

However, we will continue the pilot project with as many audiences as possible and have added some COVID-19 related questions. This will provide some feedback on how audiences such as international prospective students and agents think universities are responding to the current challenges.
