Chua Loo LinChief Communications Officer


Mr Chua Loo Lin is Chief Communications Officer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) where he oversees university branding and communications, including media relations, reputation management, marketing communications, digital communications, VIP events and protocol, issues management, as well as crisis communications.

A seasoned communications specialist with over two decades of experience, Loo Lin started his career in the Singapore civil service in 1997, spending seven years in different roles at the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Finance, cutting his teeth on campaigns, publications, media relations, and research analysis. After serving his scholarship bond with the Singapore government, he joined the Singapore Management University and spent the next seven years building and elevating the profile of the university during its nascent years.

Taking a plunge into the private sector, Loo Lin then took on a role at HSBC Singapore where he managed banking and financial communications in areas ranging from consumer banking and insurance, private banking, and succession planning, to change management and organisational culture.

Before joining NUS, Loo Lin led destination communications at Resorts World Sentosa, navigating the adrenaline-charged world of roller coasters, Halloween Horror Nights, deep sea creatures, Michelin-starred chefs, food and wine festivals, and celebrity red carpet events.

Loo Lin graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Laws, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the Nanyang Technological University.
