Maria Cristina D’Arrigo is a research management professional with over seventeen years of experience supporting academic excellence and institutional strategy.
She currently works at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano, assisting the Rector in strengthening the university’s research profile and international visibility.
Before joining USI, she was Research Manager at the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry at the University of Groningen, working alongside Nobel Laureate Prof. Ben Feringa and leading initiatives in research funding, evaluation, and recognition.
With a background in organic chemistry and materials science, and research experience across Europe, the USA, and Australia, she has developed extensive expertise in bibliometrics, research impact and university rankings.
