Rankings Watch

Many universities are eagerly awaiting the next major rankings announcement, with QS publishing their World University Rankings on 19th June.

QS will launch their main table and also the Subject Rankings at an event in London where they are promising to offer ‘comprehensive insights’ into their methodology and tips from industry experts to maximise an institution’s ‘potential’ in the rankings.

Following the W100 Network project on rankings influencers, which looked at how academics fill in the reputation surveys that form 40% of the QS score, we will be looking closely at the performance of our Members in the reputation element of the rankings.

Many institutions have developed proactive strategies to engage global faculty; and we may begin to see the first fruits of these efforts, albeit in an increasingly competitive environment where other factors such as challenges to internationalisation (such as US immigration changes and Brexit) are at play.
