The final global ranking of the season, U.S. News & World Report‘s Best Global Universities, saw positive performances from a number of W100 members, with the University of Toronto leading the way at 18th.

The UNSWR ranking methodology includes ‘Global research reputation’ (12.5% of the total score) and ‘regional research reputation’ (12.5%), which are derived from a five-year aggregate of Clarivate Analytics’ Academic Reputation Survey.

Clarivate publish a separate report on the Reputation Survey, which is helpful in breaking down the characteristics of the respondents. In 2019, they surveyed 6,307 people representing 123 countries; and academics respondents have worked for 15 to 20 years on average.
