Corinne is Vice-President (External Relations) and is responsible for marketing, communications and external engagement with key stakeholders in the local community and beyond.
She works with her team to support the University’s strategy through enhancing the University’s reputation for world-class research, generating compelling coverage on media and social media, supporting the University’s student recruitment efforts and building stronger staff and student engagement through effective internal communications.
Before she joined the University of Bath in 2016, Corinne was Head of Media and External Relations at the British Red Cross following a 15-year career in the third sector working for humanitarian, environmental and conservation charities. Having started her career in government relations, she has a particular interest in bringing together disciplines to create strategic, integrated campaigns.
The University of Bath was founded in 1966 in what is commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the UK.
More than 50 years on, the University has grown in both size and reputation, highly ranked in all three main national league tables. Awarded triple Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023, with an excellent track record on student experience and employability, the university attracts some of the best and brightest students in the world. In 2021 the University of Bath launched its Bath Beacons initiative supporting a culture of grant capture for large-scale funding to tackle major research challenges, aligned to the University’s priority research themes of Digital; Sustainability; and Health and Wellbeing. Five Beacons have now been approved for the one-year pilot and two early-career researchers have been supported to develop towards a future Beacon. These beacons were:

University of Bath performed strongly in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF). The REF is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. Ninety-two per cent (92%) of University of Bath research submitted to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 achieved the two highest classifications of ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
In addition, 90% of the University’s research outputs (e.g. journal articles, books, and patents) was rated ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ for its reach and significance. In terms of having an environment that supports research, 98% of submitted research activity was graded as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.

Miao is the Head of International Reputation and Rankings Strategy in the Global Engagement Division at the University of Bristol. Working closely with a wide range of colleagues across the institution, she is responsible for raising Bristol’s global profile and strengthening the University’s international ranking positions.

With over 25 years experience in the public sector, Lara is a senior executive who has worked in portfolios as diverse as education, health, government, sport and major events. Lara is currently Vice President, Engagement and Chief Marketing Officer at QUT, one of Australia’s most dynamic universities which prides itself on its real world focus. Prior to joining QUT, Lara was the Master and CEO of Ormond College at the University of Melbourne, Australia’s largest residential college. With over 15 years of experience in public affairs, he has developed and executed strategies to advance priorities in research funding, immigration policy, and major infrastructure projects of national significance. In addition to his previous senior leadership role at the University of Toronto, David has also held senior leadership roles at SickKids Foundation, where he was Vice-President, Brand Marketing and Communications, Western University where he was the first Associate Vice-President of Communications, and The Hamilton Spectator, where he served as editor-in-chief.

Abi Kelly joined RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2020 as Director of International Engagement and External Relations with responsibility for the Office for Institutional Research and Planning.
Her role is to support the University’s reputation raising strategy and build its brand among key stakeholders. A key ambition for RCSI is to be recognised in the Top 200 of universities in the world.
Prior to her role with RCSI, Abi spent 8 years at Newcastle University (UK) where she was Executive Director of Corporate Affairs managing the external profile of this Russell Group university. She also led communications for the N8 Research Partnership, a collaborative mission group of the eight research-intensive universities in the North of England.
She has spent 28 years working in the Public Relations industry in the UK, including roles in local and regional government, and as a PR Consultant for private-sector clients including Whitbread and Nissan.

Prior to joining the university sector, Tina was a Vice-President and Strategist at Leo Burnett USA where she helped shape iconic brands such as Disney, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s and Procter & Gamble. In all her work, Tina is passionate about brand storytelling and engaging with audiences in authentic, distinctive and measurable ways. Rector's Delegate for Communication
Prof. Dr. José Luis Copa Patiño holds a PhD in Biology, specializing in Microbiology, from the University of Alcalá (UAH). He is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedicine and Biotechnology at UAH, with over 32 years of teaching experience and six recognized five-year terms. He is part of an award-winning teaching innovation group recognized in 2012.
He has completed postdoctoral stays at the Biological Research Center (CSIC) in Madrid and at the Institute of Science and Technology at the University of Manchester (UMIST). He has published more than 75 papers in indexed journals and participated in over 110 conferences. He is co-author of six patents, one of which is international, and has led more than 80 research projects. He has supervised several doctoral theses and received multiple awards for his research work.
Since 2001, he has held various management positions at UAH, including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and ERASMUS Coordinator for the Faculties of Biology and Environmental Sciences. He has also coordinated the entrance and admission exams at UAH for new students and served as Deputy to the Vice-Rector for Undergraduate Studies and Students. Currently, he is Vice President of the Senate and a member of the Faculty of Science Board, as well as the Rector’s Delegate for Communication.

Jo is Deputy Director of External Relations at the University of Birmingham and leads on the University’s reputation and engagement activities.
She is responsible for three directorates within the External Relations Division: Birmingham Global; Public and Cultural Engagement; and Communications and Reputation. She was previously Director of Communications and Reputation at Birmingham and has also held communications and marketing roles in the public and private sector.
As well as being a member of the World 100 Committee, she is active in other senior communications and engagement networks and has previously been Co-Chair of the Russell Group Communications Directors network.

Mr Chua Loo Lin is Chief Communications Officer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) where he oversees university branding and communications, including media relations, reputation management, marketing communications, digital communications, VIP events and protocol, issues management, as well as crisis communications.
A seasoned communications specialist with over two decades of experience, Loo Lin started his career in the Singapore civil service in 1997, spending seven years in different roles at the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Finance, cutting his teeth on campaigns, publications, media relations, and research analysis. After serving his scholarship bond with the Singapore government, he joined the Singapore Management University and spent the next seven years building and elevating the profile of the university during its nascent years.
Taking a plunge into the private sector, Loo Lin then took on a role at HSBC Singapore where he managed banking and financial communications in areas ranging from consumer banking and insurance, private banking, and succession planning, to change management and organisational culture.
Before joining NUS, Loo Lin led destination communications at Resorts World Sentosa, navigating the adrenaline-charged world of roller coasters, Halloween Horror Nights, deep sea creatures, Michelin-starred chefs, food and wine festivals, and celebrity red carpet events.
Loo Lin graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Laws, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the Nanyang Technological University.
