The Université de Montréal was founded 1n 1878, as a satellite campus of the Université Laval, with three faculties: theology, law and medicine.

The University of Montréal has a truly international environment. With 10,000 international students, the university was previously named Canada’s third most international university, by a Times Higher Education ranking.
The university encourages student mobility. It has some 600 agreements that link the University of Montréal to higher education establishments located in 65 countries which provide a range of opportunities for its students to collaborate with their peers from all over the world and study abroad.
University of Montréal is also part of the G3. The G3 is a group of three major French language universities: Université de Genève, Université de Montréal, and Université libre de Bruxelles. G3 universities have created a common fund to help initiate new partnerships. The Strategic Project Development Program for Teaching and Research is one of the main vehicles for developing collaborations within the G3. The program is funded equally by all members of the group.
These universities have common interests and share similar goals in the areas of teaching, research, and service to society and the international community. The G3 aims to create innovative collaboration models in training, teaching, and research. It positions itself as a reference within the Francophonie.

Working closely with colleagues across External Relations and beyond, she is responsible for raising Bristol’s brand globally, focusing particularly on increasing its profile with academics and the media overseas.

The University’s reputation for innovation dates back to its founding in 1876. Their research tackles some of the world’s most pressing and important issues in areas as diverse as infection and immunity, human rights, climate change, and cryptography, and information security.
The University currently has 40 Fellows of the Royal Society and 13 of the British Academy.

Associate Vice-President (External Engagement & Outreach)
Laurie Pearcey commenced his appointment at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in September 2021. Laurie is responsible for expanding CUHK’s external reputation and profile with media, public policy makers, industry partners, future students and alumni locally, nationally and overseas.
Prior to his appointment at CUHK, Laurie was Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) and served as Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s oldest pathways education provider, UNSW Global Pty Ltd. Before joining higher education, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Australia China Business Council. Laurie is a fluent Mandarin speaker and is learning Cantonese.
Laurie is a non-executive director of UCAS International in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Alice Aiken
Vice-President, Research & Innovation
Dr. Alice Aiken is the Vice-President Research & Innovation at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. She is an active researcher focused on health systems transformation and evidence-informed policy-making. Dr. Aiken is currently the Vice-Chair of the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and chairs the board of Research Nova Scotia. She is elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada.
She was formerly the Dean of the Faculty of Health at Dalhousie. She is a co-founder and the former Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research, a unique consortium of over 41 Canadian and 7 international universities dedicated to researching the health needs of military personnel, Veterans and their families.
She received her PhD and Master from Queen’s University, Canada, her Physical Therapy degree from Dalhousie University, and a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. She also proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 14 years, first as a ship’s navigator in the Royal Canadian Navy, then as a physiotherapist.
She is currently the Honorary Captain(Navy) for Canadian Forces Health Services Atlantic, and a Dame of the Order of St George. For her commitment to the health and well-being of military personnel, Veterans, and their families, she has received the Canadian Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Bronze Medallion (USA).

Tracy Chalk is a a senior leader specialising in strategic and structural transformation. She recently took the role of Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at University Technology Sydney. Before this Tracy worked as University of Newcastle as the Chief Marketing Officer where she oversaw the centralisation of brand, marketing, communication, and student recruitment. This role followed two years at the University of the West of England where she led a complex transformation of marketing, communication, internal engagement, alumni relations and philanthropy. Tracy entered the Higher Education sector at The Australian National University where she spent seven years leading the development of the University’s brand and marketing strategies.
Throughout her career, the achievements Tracy covets most include working with the Australian Prime Minister’s Office as the principle brand strategist for APEC Australia 2007, helping shape Canberra’s city brand through the Chief Minister’s Strategic Brand Advisory Board and the Canberra Convention Bureau Board, and helping change the lives of students by encouraging them to take up further study.

Abi Kelly
Director of International Engagement and External Relations
Abi Kelly joined RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2020 as Director of International Engagement and External Relations with responsibility for the Office for Institutional Research and Planning.
Her role is to support the University’s reputation raising strategy and build its brand among key stakeholders. A key ambition for RCSI is to be recognised in the Top 200 of universities in the world.
Prior to her role with RCSI, Abi spent 8 years at Newcastle University (UK) where she was Executive Director of Corporate Affairs managing the external profile of this Russell Group university. She also led communications for the N8 Research Partnership, a collaborative mission group of the eight research-intensive universities in the North of England.
She has spent 28 years working in the Public Relations industry in the UK, including roles in local and regional government, and as a PR Consultant for private-sector clients including Whitbread and Nissan.

Founded as the national training body for surgery in Ireland, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences has been at the forefront of healthcare education since its establishment in 1784. Tina Imig is Head of Brand and Strategic Projects at the University of Newcastle and is a brand strategist with more than 20 years building powerful brands. Tina has extensive experience in consumer insights research, brand strategy and reputation measurement. She leads the University’s ecosystem approach to building a genuine connection with our audiences and developing a deeper understanding of the positive impact we have in our communities. Prior to joining the university sector, Tina was a Vice-President and Strategist at Leo Burnett USA where she helped shape iconic brands such as Disney, Kellogg’s, McDonald’s and Procter & Gamble. In all her work, Tina is passionate about brand storytelling and engaging with audiences in authentic, distinctive and measurable ways. Tina holds a Masters in Marketing from Northwestern University (USA) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Management. Her PhD research is focused on brand authenticity in service brands.

The Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI) is a multidisciplinary partnership between the University of Newcastle, Hunter New England Local Health District and the community. According to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, Queen’s produces internationally leading research, receiving joint 8th place in the UK for its research intensity. Over 75% of research activity at Queen’s, particularly within the fields of food security, education, pharmacy, health, modern languages, astrophysics, engineering, cybersecurity, English, and history, was judged to be internationally-excellent or world-leading.

The University has three times been awarded a prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize. The most recent award was made to a team of scientists who have transformed the lives of hundreds of diabetes sufferers. This is the second Queen’s prize won by a member of staff at the Peninsula Medical School. The Dean, Professor John Tooke, won a Queen’s Prize in 1996 also for work on diabetes. It is the third Prize won by the University.
